@kyleerackam: Note that this is SIMILAR to a BPD split, but not the same, and the *intent* is different. ‘Splitting’ is a common term used for when a person with BPD gets triggered into a fight-or-flight state of all-or-nothing thinking due to a marked instability of mood. Narcissistic ‘splitting’ is more of a pop psychology term rather than an official one, and it isn’t as common or erratic as BPD splits. But due to the black-and-white thinking, a narcissist can still split and go into a devaluation phase with someone when they’re feeling on the defense, or if they’ve built up enough hidden resentment with their emotions. Instead of a BPD split where it’s volatile and frantic, it’s more avoidant and cold. #narcissist #npd #narcissism #MentalHealth #narcissistic #lgbt #empath #bpd #npdawareness
Can you recommend a good way to open a dialogue with someone we love who splits on us?

but I feel like a narcissist is never attached to anyone in the first place to split on them. but bpd people get attached and then become narcissistic during the split

How long do NPD splits last? Could it last months, and would it make sense with NPD that they would reach out to people from the person they’re splitting on’s past for “dirt” or general humiliation?

Urg. The line between BPD and NPD is thin isn’t if. You could literally just change the title of this video and it would apply.

Every single disorder splits!!! You are in arrested development where you can’t see people as BOTH bad and good. You can only see yourself as all good or all bad, and same for how you see others.

plot twist, you're just leaving and putting down the phone to not lash out at those around you.

The lashing out part and playing cold is similar to an aspd split. When I split I split black so I’ll ignore and then send a nasty discard text to the person who I believed has wronged me
