I've found that flea combs work really well for getting tiny bit of dirt off of feathers! I have one specifically for cleaning feathers. they also work well for "brushing" the feather while it's wet!

I had found bird feathers as a kid and separated the barbules out of curiosity, assuming they couldn't be reconnected. So interesting !

I grew up with a blue&gold + a green wing. Whenever they’d lose feathers, we’d give them to my elementary school art teacher. She had a full jar by the time all my everyone made it to middle school 😌

I'm dreaming to get a macaw's feather one day 🤩 For now I've just been collecting feathers outside. I wash them first and then dry and then brush gently with a tootbrush! that does the zipping 👏🏻
