@ettransport: It comes as a shock but no surprise that there are underqualified “trucking schools” out there who are scamming people out of thousands of dollars, while agencies are simultaneously handing out licenses for bribes to new "truckers” who had no proper training to earn such serious certification. I wish I could of bought my license but I'm paying 8500 and getting proper training then after all that is done you pay all this money and still you can't get a job tonstary your career

In Alberta or Saskatchewan the MELT program is like 11 to 12 grand . It’s like a pilots license. Like omg. It’s ridiculous.

I paid $4,500/- with 7 week (5 days per week) on road training + In class training & passed my test legally. If they charge low that does not mean they are doing something wrong.

I got my license for $400 in 1998 been driving for 26 years accident free. They are not teaching common sense anymore

In Michigan it costs 3000$ for cdl A and 2 weeks to get the license in Columbus ohio you don’t need driving school to get cdl A license 😁😁

This is why I’m forever grateful my father is a small company owner and taught me himself. All my testing was at out local DMV and only coast like 100 total for the tests. Passed first try on all em.

All testing is regulated and conducted by the government in BC thru ICBC. Though maybe not as rampant, license mills and bribes for road test passes still absolutely happen here.

I didn’t by my license. Made the full melt in class training+ in yard+ on road+ air brake + medical+ road test and payed 10000$ in Alberta. Still can’t find a job because nobody gives you a chance.

26 years ago I’ve got my cdl took me 4 months before taking my road test with a lot of extra driving time with one on one with the driver trainer and stayed two years as local driver

I got my BZ for free at the garage I worked for, downgraded to a DZ. by the time I got my AZ I've had experience shifting, backing trailers. still the up grade cost me 6500.
