This was my mom’s biggest fear and why she told my siblings and I not to be organ donors. She feared this exact situation where someone would try not to save you and instead harvest your organs.

I’ve ran vents on donors and recipients many times in the past. I can honestly say this is horrifying. We did testing for brain death. Apnea tests, EEG, deep reflexes, brain death scintigraphy!

people have no idea that you can't donate an organ once the person is dead. organ donors are alive when they donate organs. and most are aware of the harvesting...

there is a rabbit hole. anyone else remember the dad that got arrest because his son was a donor and was all so declare dead but ended up waking up after the dad refused to let staff in. 😳
