If you haven’t heard of a ‘squircle’ before, this is an organic shape that is somewhere between a square and a circle. Basically, if you want to make a shape for something like an app icon, sometimes using a ‘rounded square’ leaves the impression of a kink where the curved corner meets the straight edge, or even that the straight edge is bowing inwards.
