The ONE thing you must do when someone give you more work to do is ask questions! As a leader, your job is to constantly be managing priorities so the projects that drive the important results are put on the top of the pile. That means questioning every ask that comes in. Because, truly, most deadlines are flexible, priorities shift, and not every request needs to be a top priority. Strong leaders don’t just say *yes*—they find graceful ways to say no (without saying no) by asking the right questions ✅ How big of a priority is this compared to what I’m already working on? Not everything can be urgent. Make the requester clarify what actually matters. ✅ Why do you need it by that date? Does another timeline work? You’ll be surprised how many deadlines are completely arbitrary once you push back. ✅ I recommend we do (this piece) of it now, and defer the rest to later. What are your thoughts? Sometimes, a small step forward is all that’s really needed. Leadership is about making intentional choices—not just absorbing more work and saying yes to everything. 📝 How many of these do you already ask?
