I own a reconditioning company in Atlanta and this is spot on. On my Honda lot, blends may not be as important than they are on my BMW lot. Different customers require different repairs.

It some cases he’s right and some wrong. Easiest colors to match White, black, and some silvers. You can replace the panel, paint it and no one knows. Some do not blend at all just depends.

Paint is a tricky one. It’s highly highly dependent on the actual damage, the type of paint and the shop used to fix it. In some situations it can be put back to perfect condition and you’d never know

What I heard was the average consumer under values a used car with a blemish on its history. Yes you can’t just paint one panel but the blend only needs to go partially into the adjacent panel.
