@cambostock: 4th of July 🎆 Today is apparently is a big day here in the US? For us, it was just another day on the PCT. We set out early with the goal of about a marathon to make sure we got into South Lake Tahoe in the next 3 days. We have definitely left the High Sierra but there is a new beauty on this section of trail and despite it being pretty hot today, I really enjoyed the hiking. We did get some 4th of July trail magic at a random highway cross over with cold drinks and snacks brought up by a friendly, former PCT hiker from LA. We managed to find a pretty incredible campsite atop a hill for the night. Great views, no mosquitoes and some mobile reception(which has been rare over the last month). I crossed 2,000km walked today which is a pretty massive milestone! Closing in on my longest hiker ever. Day 66 Distance hiked: 44.3km (27.5mi) Total distance hiked: 2,018.9km (1,254.5mi)
