The mucus is coming from the air sacs that are in your lungs, when inflamed they fill with fluid aka phlegm or mucus which causes you to cough to try and get rid of said mucus along with other symptoms, so it comes from the air sacs that are within your lungs, not your actual lung itself if that makes sense, also I’m no doctor or anything, just wanted to give you some insight as to what is actually happening, I hope you feel better, sending you so much love and light!!❤️🩹
