I genuinely want to know what people think about this… Hundreds of people — many of them women wearing pink — have been showing their support for Lindsay Clancy, the woman accused of killing her three children. Her defence says she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and wasn't criminally responsible. Prosecutors say the killings were planned and that she knew exactly what she was doing. I completely understand wanting to raise awareness about postpartum psychosis and the failures that can leave women without the help they need. But where do you draw the line between having sympathy for someone suffering from severe mental illness and showing solidarity with someone accused of killing their own children? Can you believe in the seriousness of postpartum psychosis without supporting Lindsay Clancy herself? And honestly… if those children were your family, would you feel the same way about the pink rally outside that courtroom? I really want to hear both sides on this one. 👇
