@surualifupi: Lagos, October 1974: Togo's Head of State, General Gnassingbe Eyadema, and his Nigerian counterpart General Yakubu Gowon sign bilateral agreement on behalf of the two nations. General Eyadema had been on a seven day state visit to Nigeria. At the end of the visit, tleaders issued a joint statement welcoming the decision by the Portuguese government towards decolonisation while condemning the "racist and colonialist regimes" in southern Africa.
