@surualifupi: Lagos, October 1974: Togo's Head of State, General Gnassingbe Eyadema, and his Nigerian counterpart General Yakubu Gowon sign bilateral agreement on behalf of the two nations. General Eyadema had been on a seven day state visit to Nigeria. At the end of the visit, tleaders issued a joint statement welcoming the decision by the Portuguese government towards decolonisation while condemning the "racist and colonialist regimes" in southern Africa. During the talks, it was also agreed that Nigeria would supply crude oil to Togo. In return, Togo was to supply Nigeria with rock phosphate. #History #nigeria #togolais228🇹🇬 #africa #surualifupi
