@themichaelgriffiths: There are 5 things you want to get right when you're trimming your hedge - so here's what you need to know 1: Sweep up. You always see people sweeping down which has a higher chance of trimming your leg than the bush, you want to sweep up which will also help you to get the right shape. 2: Always start at the bottom and work up so you can maintain a straight, even line. 3: You want it to be slightly narrower and wider at the bottom. That way light hits the hedge all over. 4: Use a hedge sweep to make sure all the clippings are captured so the top of your hedge doesn't look brown & it's easier to collect trimmings afterwards 5: after use give the bar a clean and spray with WD40 to keep moisture and rust away. @Ryobi Tools UK
