@hr_explained: Telling your manager you are looking for a new job is taking on a lot of unnecessary risk that I don’t suggest you take. If you really like your manager and/or team, you coukd give an extra week or two of notice when you do find a new job. But, this also has risk. If you’re let go as soon as you give notice, you’re now going 2-6 weeks or so without work. That is tough for many people’s finances. I also wouldn’t say you’re looking for a new job out of frustration over pay, promotions, or workload as this can lead to risk as well. #hrtiktok #humanresources #careertiktok #corporatetiktok #corporatelife #greenscreenvideo #worktok #managersbelike #newjob
I am currently interviewing internally and I still have not told my manager that I am looking. Is this best practice for internal candidates?

What if I say I have applied here and there but not consistently or actively?

Never tell anyone at work you are interviewing. If word gets out you could miss out on promotions, projects, good raises, and they may start thinking of you as home already and start thinking of your replacement

My boss called me fuming because someone called him for a referral. I immediately felt like my job was in jeopardy.

Do you have any information on 3rd party leadership performance reviews? Are they actually anonymous? My employer has sent notice that employees may be chosen at random to review their management.
