I am half black(and halfway, and light skinned) I was also adopted, so I spent a lot of of my time growing up in rural Eastern Washington, so I got a complex of how not white I was, when I went to college, I wasn’t ever black enough, so I had to really embrace a community that I found amongst other black, Brown, and biracial/multiracial people. That really helped me develop my identity, fast forward to when I met my biological family, and I was well prepared to be able to embrace the complexity.

honestly even with 2 Mexican parents and grandparents that raised me, going to the motherland, I felt out of place. In Spanish there's a saying "ni de aqui, ni de alla" neither from here or there 🫤

🤔🙂 Yes many could not tell what ethnicity I was but then saw my last name was Slavic or possibly Polish lol… but I was also sort of the only child but had older half bother and sister who where fully European/Australian. And many were shocked that I was their little sister. It was ok growing up because there were a few of us mixed or filo related 🙂
