𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝟵𝟬.👼🏼🤍✨ I’ve gone back and forth so many times about whether to share this. 🤍 But I’m sharing it now for a reason. Not for sympathy, not for attention, but for awareness. Because if telling my story helps even one person recognise the signs of an ectopic pregnancy, trust their instincts and seek help when something doesn’t feel right, then sharing something so incredibly personal will be worth it. This is the story of our little 1 in 90. 🤍👼🏼✨ On 16th September, after 2 weeks of pain and spotting to unexpected bleeding, I took a pregnancy test and saw those two lines. I hadn’t even known I was pregnant, as I was on the pill. Everything happened so unexpectedly, and despite the shock, there was a little part of me that instantly loved you. 🤍 I went to hospital after experiencing pain and bleeding and was initially told that I was having a very early miscarriage. My bloods were monitored for days and I was eventually allowed home once my levels had started to fall. But during that time, an ultrasound had shown something around my right ovary. I was told to repeat a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks and return if it was still positive because of the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy. I went home thinking the worst was already behind me. But it wasn’t. The pain continued and I became seriously unwell. I went back to hospital and was finally told that I had an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured. The thing that had been seen around my right ovary the first time wasn’t simply something unrelated. It was our little baby. 🤍 Our baby had implanted outside of the womb, in my right fallopian tube, and by the time I returned to hospital a week later, the tube had ruptured. I needed emergency surgery to remove my right fallopian tube. Everything happened so quickly. One minute I was trying to understand what was happening to me, and the next I was being prepared for emergency surgery. Physically, I’m recovering. Emotionally, I know that will take much longer. There are so many feelings that come with losing a baby that I never even knew I was carrying. The sadness, the what-ifs, the questions, the fear, the anger, and the little moments where I wonder who you might have been. You were here for such a short time, but you were real. You were loved. And you will always be a little part of our story. 🤍 Through every hospital visit, every tear, every moment of fear and now recovery, Callum has been beside me. My person, my best friend and my biggest support. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words how grateful I am for him. 🤍 And then there’s my parents, especially my Mom. 🤍 Mom, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to properly thank you for everything you have done for me through this. You never left my side. You ran on barely any sleep just to be there for me, sitting beside me through every examination, every scan, every blood test and every moment I was scared. You wiped my tears, made me laugh when I didn’t feel like smiling, cheered me up when everything felt impossible and became my rock when I needed one most. Watching you care for me through the hardest thing I’ve ever been through has shown me exactly the kind of person and the kind of woman I want to be. If one day I grow into even half the woman you are, I will consider myself incredibly lucky and forever grateful. I hope you know how much I love you, and how much everything you have done for me means. 🤍 I will never forget the people who held me up when I couldn’t hold myself up. To our little baby — our unexpected little piece of heaven — you may not have stayed long enough for us to meet you, but you will always have a place in our hearts. Our little 1 in 90. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever part of us. 🤍👼🏼✨ If there is one thing I hope comes from sharing our story, it’s awareness. Ectopic pregnancy is rare, but it can be life-threatening. Awareness saves lives. 🤍 #ectopicpregnancy #babyloss #baby #pregnancy #1in90
