I've had managers say can I have a word or booked a meeting with no reason and I've instantly spiraled and gone into panic mode. Literally cannot concentrate on anything until its happened 😵💫

it's absolutely the worst part of ADHD. it's physically painful & causes me to become emotionally intractable, after rejection/criticism it takes days to emotionally regulate again

I also think people don’t realize how “little” of a “rejection” it can be. A tone, a look, something said/not said. Something we PERCEIVE as rejection can be debilitating

It's because through everything we already feel useless and when there's rejection it feels like it's confirmation that we're useless and then makes us feel even worse about ourselves

The worst for me is when I RSD myself. If I criticize or critique my own thoughts or actions it feels like doomsday.

yes absolutely! I was diagnosed at 35. Its allowed me to understand myself and my childhood so much more. I've forgiven myself for things I now know I have no control over.

I’ve described it as “feeling like my dog just died.” Figuring out that autism/adhd is basically a magnet for bullies helped me tremendously, because now I can understand what’s actually happening.

So I LITERALLY showed this to my husband 2 help explain y I was not feeling positive toward him after he gruffly shared his opinion about something. He did NOT get it AT ALL even with this. 🤦🏻♀️
