As a Puertorrican this is the basis way to make a white people flan. You should also add a pinch of salt. Can use dulce de leche instead of condensed milk. Sugar can be caramelized a lil more.

we use eggyolks, milk, sugar, vanilla extract. the whites, we either discard it or use it for icing. we only steam for a couple of minutes...and nope, if there's bubbles, it's not the perfect flan. 😂
