Yeah it’s not an easy hiring process props to them. People hate on pay but the stuff they see every day is not worth the amount of $. You have to be a certain person to do their job

For anyone who says “firefighters not having a CDL is dangerous” you need to look at FF driver training. It’s crazy complex and requires a ton of hours.

FFs in New York and Cali will make 100k+ but rightfully so, look at that cost of living. However, there's lots of departments in central ohio making this easily

I’m FF/EMT in the PNW. I make $5000 after taxes every month as a 4th step out of 5 steps which is $115,000 (before taxes), with no over time. I work 48/96. Every 7 weeks I get mandatory 10 days off.

Depends on the department, can vary from 35k to well over 100k. Big cities typically pay more obviously
