@charles_dowding: Asparagus has two different seasons, 1 Eating. Harvest the spears until solstice, then stop and allow the second #haseena 2 Roots regenerating. Spears grow into the stems and leaves you see here. Then from late October it's good to cut the stems as they start to go yellow. Either leave on the surface, or chop up for compost. In late September, we sowed mustard here as cover crop, and it will be killed by frost. In winter, we shall spread 2cm compost. #asparagus #growyourownfood #nodig #gardeningtips #nodiggardening #fyp
