With the European Hyrox season kicking off tomorrow in Germany and lots of events thereafter, Here are my top tips to get your best time possible. 1. Get a really good nights sleep the days before. At least 8 hours sleep per night. 2. Carb up the day before the event as this is the energy source you'll be using during the race. My go to foods are rice, bread, pasta, fruit & sweets. 3. Do some form of exercise the day before that raises the heart rate but doesn't tax the body to much. I personally like do short intervals on a treadmill or outside going slightly faster than my Hyrox race pace. This is going to increase blood volume and prime you for the event. 4. In the day of the event, get to the venue around 2 hours before your event. No earlier or later. This gives you plenty of time to register and warm up. But not too long that you start feeling tired. 5. Study the course. Know exactly where you are going. The less brain power you use on the course, the more energy you can put into races. Also the less chance of mistakes. 6. When warming up, flike to go outside the event and jog for 10 minutes. This clears the mind and relieves the nerves caused by the big atmosphere inside the hall. 7. When starting, don't set out too fast. If you were doing any other endurance event that was 60-100 minutes, you'd never start it with a 1km best effort. Pace yourself. 8. Make sure you do every station with perfect technique, sloppy technique isn't worth the risk of penalties. Also don't argue with judges, this just wastes time and energy. 9. When you're struggling and you want to give up. Look up at the people who are watching you. The people that have given time and effort out of their day to support you. Make them proud. 10. Enjoy it. You've paid to be there. Also being in a good mood reduces perceived exertion (how hard something feels). #Hyrox #HyroxTips #fyp #Fitness #fitnesstips
