I’d recommend bringing it into their awareness by using the phrase I use in this video: “Is there a kinder more respectful way you could share this feedback as the way you’re currently sharing it is really crushing for my confidence which I don’t think is helpful”  If they say you need to toughen up you can reaffirm what you’ve said:  “Regardless of whether you think I need to toughen up please can you share feedback in a kind respectful way” Whilst in the moment you probably won’t get much acknowledgment they are likely to be more cautious going forward.  📌 Please be mindful that the approach shown in this video will not fit every situation so always use your own judgement and adapt it to suit your own circumstances.
