@rzpthesausage: We've always struggled to get Rolo to accept his nails being trimmed, despite doing lots of work with him trying to get him comfortable with it, it has always stressed him out. This is when we found this, a nail scratch board for dogs(we purchased this from Amazon)! It's so easy to use and Rolo gets excited every time it comes out. We hide treats inside the little treat box and he scratches away. He does a minute of scratching before we lift the box so he can get a treat then we repeat the process for a total of 5-8 minutes. Whilst this doesn't get them to a length that clipping the nails would, it does reduce them enough to reduce the risk of being uncomfortable with nails that are too long with the added bonus of him not being stressed out by the process of clipping.
