I’ve given thousands of golf lessons and these are 3 of the most common issues I see out of slicers of the golf ball. 1️⃣ Ball position being too far forward. This tends to make players cut across the ball too much through impact where the ball position being further back (relative to excessively forward) makes path work more in to out. This leads into point two. 2️⃣ Because the ball position is further forward I tend to see players reach up to the ball which gets the spine leaning towards the target. This makes it very difficult to turn behind the ball and makes players more likely to hit down on the ball which is a distance killer, and usually leads to out to in club paths. Reach up to the ball also tends to cause a weak trail hand grip which can open the face. 3️⃣ Once the set up is in place, if you still swing over the top and leave the face open this is a great drill to separate face and path.
