Blue Cross HMO holder & hospital worker. My wife did a shit ton of radiologic CT/US visits and skin tags removed in Brazil for less than $200 USD. It would cost thousands in the U.S. out of pocket.

$2500/mo is pretty much the going rate for full family health insurance PPOs by employers. If you can get an PPO through the marketplace in your state, it is the same price (just higher deductible).
