Out. All day. Doesn’t matter if the batter “can’t commit” to second. As soon as there was a move towards second, the protection of over running first is given up.

Right call. If the the runner over runs the base and then turns left towards second base, you can tag her out. But she clearly turns right, away from 2nd base, so she’s safe.

OUT. If you turn in, you commit to going to 2nd. Good coaching teaches players to turn out unless you’re flagged to take second. If you turn in and see that you’re not going to 2nd, get back ASAP

Not necessarily an equivalent situation, but I've seen MLB plays where the runner merely considered advancing andnwere called out.

out. my coaches always said come back towards where the fence is (right side). if you turn towards 2nd (the left) they can call you out at the thought of attempt to go 2nd.

Out. All day, every day. Any motion towards second constitutes a move towards the bag. FYI, you can overrun the base and turn left or right it doesn’t matter as long as you don’t make towards second.

tuvo la intención clara de doblar para segunda porque pensó que habían votado la bola ahora no se cómo se aplica esa regla en softball porque en baseball es out

I was always told to run through the base and to the right. if you go left you're subject to be tagged out.

100% out...even if you do a little flinch as if your going, you're out if tagged. which is why players are taught to curl to the right when running through first base. Bad call Umps, you messed up

Had she turned toward second base whenever she returned to first base, then yes, she’d be out. But she turned towards the dugout when she returned to first base. Safe.

There has to be intent to run to 2nd. It's really up to umpire discretion as to whether intent was there, could go either way. My opinion is out, because of the stutter step left

I saw a commit to second base and expected an out call. HOWEVER, I am never upset with discretionary calls that lean towards the play that promotes more action.

Nope safe. She turned around (clockwise)to return to the base towards the 1st base foul line. If she turned around(counterclockwise)to return to 1st toward the 2nd base she’d be out.

She’s out. In softball you HAVE TO turn toward the right other wise you can get tagged out! This is what I would usually call an “easy out”
