@cbcnews: Jessica Campbell isn’t fazed by the attention put on her as the first female coach in the NHL. “I put on my skates the same way as everybody else,” she told The National’s Ian Hanomansing just before the start of the 2024 NHL season. Campbell is in her first season as a full-time assistant coach for the Seattle Kraken, which puts her in the league’s history books. Before coaching in the NHL, the 32-year-old Rocanville, Sask., native worked as an assistant coach for Seattle's AHL affiliate in Coachella Valley, Calif. Campbell was also an accomplished player in the NCAA, Canadian Women's Hockey League and won a world championship silver medal with Canada's women's national team. #hockey #NHL #seattle #seattlekraken
