They don’t know that we are planning to help them, to treat them, to care for them and to find good homes for them. They live in a moment and all they know is that a stranger is approaching them, touching them and lifting them up. For them all this can be extremely scary. Sometimes being touched or lifted can also cause physical pain if they are injured. 😔 We always try to be as gentle as possible. To make it easier for them. Moving slowly, talking with a calm voice, avoiding fast movements and forcing. It makes it at least a bit easier for them, even if the situation is difficult. This little one was staying alone on the streets. He didn’t seem to be feeling too well, wasn’t really moving and seemed to be in pain. He was friendly, but the situation was quite a lot to handle. We approached him calmly, checked him for visible injuries, put a blanket on him and then lifted him to the cage by two people. It was stressful and probably painful for him, he tried to tell us in all the ways that he wasn’t comfortable with that. But we had to take him anyway, it was for his own good. The little one is called now Nimbus and he is with us for a few weeks. ❤️ When he arrived, he was anemic and had several infected wounds.
