@anatomy.of.motion: PULL-UP TEST Did you know that a classic straight pull-up can be used as a test to check how much healthy strength your upper body can generate? For most of the pull-up movement, chest and shoulder position doesn't really matter, but to touch the bar with your sternum, the chest needs to be open and shoulders depressed. This means that if you have the strength to perform most of the pull-up, but lose it at the end and are unable to touch the bar with your sternum, it's because your nervous system is not used to generate force on a proper foundation #pullup
you don’t need to teach sternum, most movement in the muscle as you can see happens before

Well, for hypertrophy, it’s not very good. Meaning that the range of motion is limited. So even if u don’t touch the bar, you are still going to make gains.
