I just have a 5month old colt coliked i almost lost him, but he’s a little trooper he had to have surgery unfortunately but he’s now doing amazing recovering, it’s horrible seeing them suffer 🥺

My family has had a couple horses colic, one died but I never thought about lifting the tail and doing massages. When the vet does come out, the only thing they do is suction the stomach maybe an IV

That’s awesome. I would then follow that up with some good probiotic or gut stuff like succeed just to keep that digestion moving.

I love practical like stuff. vets aren't always the best first move, see what you can achieve (in a non emergency situation) and go from there! good job!!

dis is what I learned to do as a first response if you catch it early or when you are waiting for your vets. it can take hours depending on where you are.

The good or bad thing about colic is… a lot of times it can work its way out. I’ve had really good luck walking them uphill… but it also go really bad really fast. But yeah, we love 💨 and 💩 here 😂
