Correlation does not imply causation though. It may be that those that give to charity are well off and on a upward trend financially and therefore would have had more $ reguardless.

nonsense. my father gives sooo much of his money to charity, so much that he struggles at times to make ends meet. His wealth has not increased in any way over 30 years.

if your a company and donate, they use it as a tax write off so yea they end up making more money on paying less taxes as that donation writes off x amount of dollars on their income
