I’m 24 and a mental health counselor I have a range of clients young to older adults. Usually when clients care about therapist age it’s a good thing to explore it with them!!

I get comments a lot about my age as a therapist - there are so many ways to measure the success of therapy but the age of your therapist is not one of the ways, we gotta start somewhere!

I’m a therapist and I have a good amount of clients older than me! I can definitely understand the initial weird feelings there, but overall age certainly doesn’t measure their skill :)

A lot of the times younger therapists try harder than older therapists! I try to keep that in mind when people are nervous about how young I am as a therapist, but I also remind myself that I have five years of experience!

i had a client actually shooketh when i told them i just turned 25. but some clients really like that i’m able to relate to them/understand pop culture so they never mind it, it’s worked in my favor

I’m a 23yo who looks 18 and see kids who think I’m 30 but also see men in their 50s who think I’m 8. Being a young counselor is just weird😅

I’m almost positive mine is younger than me and let me tell you she’s has been a godsend. Not to mention, I find the younger therapists are SO much more in-tune with their clients

I get that! I started my counseling internship at 23 and I was super worried people would hate how young I was. now I'm 26 and finally feel like an adult therapist
