I recently switched to a new therapist and I was explaining an interaction I had with someone and she said “do you want to just read me the texts?” I knew right then she was going to be a good fit.

As a people pleaser I prefer therapists that are less emotional feature wise. That way I don’t have standards of their reaction when talking and my ocd doesn’t affect my stories.

Will therapists change their style (blank/non-blank slate) based on the client orif you ask? Or is it something that’s individual to a therapist (i.e., they always believe blank is best/their style)?

Omg 😂 this happened in my session today. My therapist’s facial expression was priceless when I was sharing something and it made me laugh so much, I told her the her reaction made my day😂🙌
