@theadventureaddicts: and they’re EASY to clean!!! 👇 Kelby has been in love with his cast iron pans longer than I’ve known him, but I basically refused to cook in them because I was 1. Scared of ruining them, and 2. Scared of cleaning them. But, after he taught me what I was doing and how hard it would actually be to ruin one of these, I fell in love with them too. There are a LOT of myths out there about how to and how not to use one of these pans, and honestly most of them are not that serious. Cooking in them is super easy and I swear they make everything taste better. The key to camping with these is that we barely clean them at camp if we don’t have to. We keep it well seasoned at home (clean it properly and oil it so nothing sticks), so that when we’re camping, dishes are minimal. IF something does stick to it, here are two methods I would try at camp: 1. Fill the pan with a thin layer of water and let it boil over the stove. The stuck food will come off and then you can scrape it! 2. Use soap!!!! Everyone thinks you can’t use soap on these, and you 100% can. You can clean it with a sponge and some dawn dish soap just like a normal pan. Just rinse it well and re-oil it. We now have three of these: one for camping and a very large and a very small one for at home and we love them all!!! They’re quite inexpensive and will last us a lifetime if we take care of them.
