Yes, please! 🙋‍♀️ Save these details to plan your next trip to the McKenzie River area in Oregon ⬇️ 🏕️ Where to Camp: • Ice Cap Campground: Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with close access to the McKenzie River Trail, Koosah Falls, Tamolitch Blue Pool, and nearby hot springs like Belknap and Terwilliger. • The campground has basic amenities including a water pump, picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Reservations are available, but it operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so booking early is recommended, especially during peak season. 🥾 Trail Details: I recommend the following route ⬇️ • Sahalie Falls to Koosah Falls**: About 2.6 miles apart, accessible via the Sahalie Falls Trail, which connects the two falls easily. • Koosah Falls to Tamolitch Blue Pool**: Adds another 3.5 to 4 miles via the McKenzie River Trail. • Tamolitch Blue Pool: A stunning, spring-fed pool with vibrant blue water, emerging from underground lava tubes. 🛶 Clear Lake: Known for its crystal-clear waters with visibility up to 100 feet. The clarity is due to: • Spring-Fed: Fed by underground springs that filter water through volcanic rock. • Natural Filters: Lava tubes and geological formations act as natural filters. • Cold Temperatures: Cool temperatures help reduce algae and microorganisms.
