what you are talking about is the Romani culture and they are in Spain but it's a difference between edges and what they did the took long pieces of their hair and curled them to lay them down. Now with edges Josephine Baker did her's in a finger wave type of way different from the Romani culture and as time went by we took her idea and changed it to what we have today. (p.s if you have your opinion have it im just educating because I did my research bye)
