Chinese Ship In Stand Off With NATO After Sabotage #usa #america A Chinese ship is currently in a stand off by NATO warships after it attacked the alliance. With investigators accusing the ship of dragging its anchor for 100 miles to deliberately sever two critical data cables between European nations. The probe now focuses on if the Russians had any part in this or if it was a Chinese operation. One investigator said “It’s extremely unlikely that the captain wouldn’t have noticed that the ship dropped and dragged its anchor, losing speed for hours, and cutting cables along the way”. Furthermore, once the ship dropped its anchor in Swedish waters - it turned off its identification system. It then severed an internet cable between Sweden and Lithuania, then another cable between Germany and Finland. The Danish Navy sent ships to intercept the Chinese boat and briefly board it once it was clear what it was doing. Western officials say they don’t think the Chinese government had any involvement but rather they suspect that Russia is behind the sabotage. The entire crew is Chinese except for one sailor who is Russian but they can’t be questioned against their will and they can’t be towed to port either due to international law. So NATO currently surrounds the boat to prevent it or anyone on board from going anywhere until they agree to questioning and boarding. Sweden has requested it be towed to Swedish waters.
