@angelaahammond: We finished our breastfeeding journey last week on her first birthday. I set a goal of one year I didn’t think we’d actually make it, there were so many hard times : milk supply issues due to lack of sleep and stress, blocked milk ducts (ouch, IYKYK) and just the stress of feeling constantly needed. But I am so proud of myself for nourishing and feeding my baby for 10 months in my belly then 12 months out of it. It’s estimated that 1800 hours is spent breastfeeding in one year which is almost 34 hours a week give or take how correct that is but a women’s job as a mother never stops it is the most intense job I’ve ever done in my 37 years of living and I’ve been proud of every minute. I already miss our special time together and wish I could tell every new mama it will get better, it will get less and you will sleep again. 🩷
