I think a big factor was that she once mentioned after the heart attack he lost a lot of memories of the two of them. It makes me wonder how much of his off screen personality changed

also she took care of her father until he died, so I think another factor is she didn't want to go through that again (Rob was given 5 years to live by the doctors)

The "emergency contact" one hit me. I got divorced last year and went thru the biggest change in my adult life. It changed your sense of security and perspective on the world.
