STORY TIME👇 My hunt for spider lilies didn’t go as planned 😅 I recently decided to check out a lesser-known spot for spider lilies. My schedule has been super packed recently, but after seeing a photo on Google, posted just 14 hours earlier with flowers in full bloom, I thought, "Why not squeeze in a last-minute trip?" But when I arrived, guess what? The spider lilies were already gone! 🥲 Turns out, the Google photo wasn’t a real-time update. It just reminded me that it’s not always easy to find reliable blooming information, especially at lesser-known locations. Sometimes, even Google isn’t foolproof. There were still a handful of flowers left, but they were definitely past their peak. I couldn’t leave without taking some photos of them though, and honestly, I’m still pretty happy with that one shot I featured in the reel! That said, I’ll definitely be coming back again next year, hoping to catch them in all their glory. This experience taught me that sometimes the only way to know what’s really happening is to go and see it for ourselves. It’s why I always make sure to include in my posts when exactly my photos or videos were taken, especially if they’re time-sensitive / not permanent. I want to make sure you all have the most up-to-date info whenever I share. I am also happy to see the responsible travel creators do the same. Have you ever gone somewhere expecting one thing, only to be surprised when you got there? Let me know your experiences in the comments—I’d love to hear them! 📍 Sagamihara Kita Park 📸 10/10/24 😆 #spiderlilies #japanspiderlilies #higanbana #彼岸花
