In those days modest swimwear didn’t exist but men telling females what to wear still does exist. I have had this discussion many times before. How my parents who left lebanon in the 1970s still held on to their religious and cultural beliefs but those who have stayed on in lebanon have succumbed to the western way of dressing. Regardless I will always be thankful for having the freedom to wear what I want in Australia and pray this freedom is never taken away from us. Also this lamb curry knows no discrimination and is delicious if you follow my recipe ⬇️ Lamb Curry 1.5kg lamb on the bone 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup ghee 2tsp cumin seeds 2 cinnamon sticks 4 bay leafs 2 brown onion sliced 1.5tbsp grated ginger 1.5tbsp crushed garlic 1tsp Salt 2 cans chopped tomato’s 3 potatoes quartered 1/2 cup greek yoghurt mixed with 1/2 cup water 2 cups water 1.5tsp ground cumin 1.5tsp paprika 1.5tsp ground coriander 1.5tsp garam masala 1tsp any curry powder 1tsp black pepper 1tsp turmeric 2tsp salt or to taste Green chilli (optional) Fresh chopped coriander chopped Method Heat oil and ghee then add cumin seeds and cinnamon sticks. Mix for 2 min. Add onion and mix until golden. Add salt, garlic and ginger and mix for 2 min Add the meat and mix occasionally until browned on all sides. Add the canned tomatoes and potatoes. Mix for 2min then add 2 cups water until it starts to boil. Cover with a lid then reduce heat to low for 1 hour. Uncover then add the cumin powder, ground coriander, garam masala, turmeric, black pepper, 2 tsp salt and curry powder. Then add the yoghurt/water mix then the green chillis. Stir gently, cover and simmer for another 30min or until meat is tender. Add the chopped coriander before serving with a side of rice. Enjoy! #lambcurry #curry #cooking #fyp
