how do they define the without COVID cohort? isn't that mostly people who didn't know they had it? so couldn't the increased risk be much worse if asymptomatic/low symptom cases increase risk too?

I’m hoping you will weigh in. I never had chicken pox, but was exposed when my son had it. I have never had chicken pox vax. I have had all my Covid shots except the most recent I am getting today.1/2

Jan 2021 during Covid I was 71yrs old when I developed my 1st shingles attack on my head, forehead & eye, terrible!! Dr said she saw many patients!!

Had chicken pox at a young age, cold sores all my life, herpetic keratitis with dendrites so I assume shingles is coming for me. Hopefully can get the vaccine in time.

COVID also causes reactivated EBV and I honestly wish infectious disease doctors would start looking more into this especially those with long COVID.
