I think the problem is when dentists try to do cases outside of their skillset and that’s not fair to patients.

I worked for a gen dentist who would do Invisalign cases and select to never do attachments or bands. The patients had revision after revision 😵💫

My dentist told me I wasn’t a good candidate for Invisalign. Orthodontist said I was. I literally got my first set of liners one day before my 6 month hygiene appointment 😳

Now I feel like I should have done more research. I’m on day 4 of Invisalign and did research after, now I know I have a dentist, not an orthodontist. And I’m annoyed with my lisp caused by the trays

I’ve had braces when I was a kid but stopped used retainer (lost them). Went to dentist cuz I chipped a tooth and now need aligners per dentist. I scheduled a consultation w orthodontics anyways lol

Dentist told me invisalign will take me 4-6 months, ortho said it will take more than 2-3 years, now i'm on braces which she said is going to be 1-2 years

An ortho made my treatment plan and assesses my scans but he is remote. I went to my dentist for my attachments and if I have any issues I will go to the dentist. I hope that is sufficient.

It can be ok but I feel like whatever you doing, from braces to a rhinoplasty to a roof repair. It’s almost always going to be best to hire someone who specializes in it

So glad we did an ortho checkup when my son was 7. He needed a palate expander and we wouldn’t have known had we just let the dentist do Invisalign

omg yes! i went to my general dentist who said i qualified for express and it would only take 7 months. i went to an ortho after who estimated 24 months and pointed out things the dentist hadn’t! 😭

I have an implant so I decided I would only go to an ortho for Invisalign; def more expensive but I’d rather have someone doing it who thinks about it all day every day!

My dentist does invialign but is totally clueless and always gives out misinformation. They got upset I went to an ortho instead and are constantly arguing that my ortho does everything wrong 🧐😒
