Ten things that are neglected will not be of any benefit ١. This is knowledge that is not acted upon. ٢. an action that one performs is insincere and does not follow (the Quran and Sunnah). ٣. wealth that is not spent - the one who hoards it does not use it in this world and does not make it his reserve in the eternal world. ٤. a heart in which there is no love for Allah, aspiration for Him and a sense of closeness to Him. ٥. a body that refuses to obey and serve Him. ٦. love that is not limited to pleasing the Beloved and fulfilling His commands. ٧. time spent uselessly, without making up for lost time, without trying to gain piety and draw closer to Allah. ٨.thinking that does not bring benefit. ٩.serving someone whose service does not bring you closer to Allah or bring you any good in this world. ١٠.fear and hope in relation to someone who is at the complete disposal of Allah, who is, in fact, His captive and is unable to ward off harm from himself or bring benefit to himself, and does not own death, life, or resurrection for himself. The greatest of these losses are two: ١.the loss of the heart and the loss of time. The loss of the heart is due to preferring this world to the eternal world, and the loss of time is due to hopes that are too far-reaching. ٢.all corruption is concentrated in following one’s passions and far-fetched hopes, and all good is in following the straight path and preparing to meet Him.
