@theparentingreframe: Replying to @Samantha Louise This is my 60 second roadmap of what to do DURING a tantrum. The @Team Supercrew books are a critical part of the process! #tantrum #selfregulation #tantrums #emotionalintelligence #emotionalregulation #parentsoftiktok
Genuine question: So every time they experience a similar emotion that they cannot regulate you just reread the same book? Won’t kids stop listening when it’s the same story over and over again?

This is so helpful! Should you physically try to comfort them? My 20 mo doesn’t seem to appreciate hugs during his meltdowns 😅 but I feel weird being physically distant while he cries

for some kids a timer can help and they can visually see if they have 5 minutes left to play or eat etc. helps them visually understand and prepare for a transition. 😊

I have worked at staying calm during the tantrum and validating the feelings but where do I go when it comes to property damage or threats of self harm or harm to others 😳🥺

I find it very hard to believe you actually think these books are helpful. They give no real coping skills. All it tells you to do is change the way you’re thinking. That’s it. Please be so for real

While a child is experiencing a meltdown, the first step is not setting a boundary. Unless, the parent wants to live in total chaos.

Question! What do we do when we have done this and the behavior continues for 15-20 mins straight. Trying to ween my daughter off her paci and she asked for it I said no, I validated and I was calm.

Any extra steps for a special needs child with CP who has meltdowns? They mimic autistic meltdowns but he has not been diagnosed. He is 14 and some last up to 30 min 🥺

What do you do if the tantrum is when you are about to leave the house on a time crunch. I give choices a d she throws a tantrum over not being able to decide her outfit when it's time for school
