Different doesn’t mean that one is better than the other, it is ALWAYS beneficial to move your body. 🚨 The thing that people get confused with, is that they expect the results that TRAINING provides, when they are merely EXERCISING. So here’s the difference… ⬇️ EXERCISING: ✅ You break a sweat, or “feel the burn” with light lifting ✅ You are moving your body and getting those endorphins ✅ A lot of the times it’s social & fun ✅ You don’t worry about rest periods or pushing yourself till failure ✅ There’s not a goal involved other than maybe a calorie burn or step count ✅ It does little for reshaping your body and growing muscle ✅ It’s good for you! TRAINING: ✅ Goal oriented (muscle growth in certain areas of your body, increasing the amount of weight you’re lifting etc) ✅ It’s INTENSE and it’s HARD ✅ You focus on your rest periods, sets and reps ✅ You push yourself till failure, and even make faces/ sounds ✅ It’s ideal for growing muscle (hypertrophy) reshaping your body and getting stronger ✅ It’s good for you! (Bonus: sometimes you dread your workouts because you know how hard they are going to be, but feel SO good when they are done!) So just KNOW the difference and align your goals accordingly! ➡️ If you want to move your body, sweat and feel good- then exercise! ➡️ If you’re wanting to reshape your body & grow muscle- you need to be training. Side note: while I train most of the time, there are days I go in the gym just to exercise because I’m tired or worn out. I’m there to move my body, and get the weights from point A to point B without pushing hard. It’s fine to do both!
