Hi, please give me some advice. There’s an idea job for me that is tailor made to my skill set and experience. However, my Gen Z recruiter was highly unprofessional. She rescheduled the interview twice. Showed up to the 3rd interview (on Zoom) in her tattered t-shirt. The interview went really well but I received an email from her the next day saying I’m no longer in consideration but they would like to keep my résumé on file. So, I said of course and that I would love any constructive criticism or tips/advice on the interview portion. She just said that it was down to me and another person and they went with the other person. However, the job kept showing up. Weeks later, now months. So, I messaged and this time the response was she’s considering other people because they want to go in a different direction (so the first response was a lie). I really want this particular job or at least I want to be interviewed by someone with the proper credentials (my recruiter until very recently was not in our industry or even in recruiting). What’s the best possible approach to backchanneling in this situation? Can I message someone higher up directly?
