That’s not how people use ‘you get my next one’ typically. It’s usually people who don’t want to complicate splitting the bill so one pays and the other does it after.

Honestly I just say that so they won’t feel bad for me buying or paying. I have friends that fight TO pay for the bill. It’s great and I love them.

I always thought we just said that so they wouldn’t fight about letting us get the tab 😂 Or “it all evens out eventually”. Some people feel really bad when someone else pays for them so I feel like it just acknowledges “No big deal I know you’d do it too!”.
