500 fewer than currently is different from a 500 calorie deficit aren't the same thing. If you eat 3k calories regularly and then eat 2.5k then you'll lose until 2.5k is your maintenance

You guys are talking past one another. He didn’t say 500 calorie deficit, he said eating 500 fewer calories changes your maintenance, so you’re no longer in a 500 calorie deficit.

If I eat the same calories but cut out carbs I drop weight like a rock. When I say cut out, i mean stick to no more than 20 a day.
