Replying to @taylorfields_ When I’m at a show like Makeup in Paris, I evaluate products in a way similar to how I would in store but with an added layer of nuance and insight. As a beauty product developer looking at unreleased products offers a unique opportunity: the ability to influence and modify various aspects BEFORE they reach the market. That’s the beauty of industry shows like these—they open up a space for creativity and experimentation. I pay close attention to how the texture feels on my skin; is it heavy or lightweight? What does the texture feel like and have I experienced anything like this before? Does it have a scent, and if so, is it pleasant or overwhelming? How does it perform with the packaging presented? I can’t check the IL (ingredient listing) at this point so it’s entirely about the sensations and initial impressions. These and many other questions guide my evaluation process, which aren't that different from whether I'm in a store or at a show. Which is why y'all love to see me evaluate product, because it's the same thing I'm looking for when hunting for new products to launch 😅 As a consumer, thinking this way can help you discover and rule out things you may or may not like in a product too.
