I had an awesome boss who really allowed me to flourish in my role. Was on cloud 9 for years… Got a new boss and it flipped on its head. I’ve been shelved, feel used and it’s been shattering.

Yes - I agree with most of this. Not so sure about systems. But there is also vison and motivation. But the not doing is 100% - I tell leaders to be lazy!

I have had great managers who were fantastic leaders. I hope and pray that I lead as well, but they don't manage processes, they inspire their team 💯💯💯

Yeah my people ask me to do these things but my senior leaders don’t give me time. I’m left being considered a bad manager by staff but fantastic by CTO

How rare is this ? Most so called managers I know are still doing the job they were good at then asked to manage people on top..then they fail as no time to do these things you speak of.

I wasn’t a manager, now have 2 direct reports, all my job responsibilities are the same and the reports have other tasks so I can only delegate a tiny amount, so hard to be a manager & full time role
